High Reaches Hold

High Reaches is even colder then its Weyr, built half into a mountain - literally, in that some of the Hold doesn't really see the sky. It's useful in winter since those in the deepest part are warmer, even if it is stifling. The fields closest to the Hold are well plowed, but the Hold usually raises more animals than plants - food plants grow better down near the river cotholds and the Hold itself is more a center of activity than anything else. They do breed hardy mountain horses, filled with stamina. There are a few Navarn here in the mountains, but they are more common down south.
